E=MC Hammer

Thought I would post some trivia pics. The "quiz master" takes pics of every team and posts them on the trivia blog. Our team name is E=MC Hammer

1/29/08 - Vanessa, Me, Hunter, Christie, and some dude who joined our team

2/12/08 - V and Me. Bill left before picture time. Boo Bill.

I got my dress!

My bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding this summer came in. It's still too big in the bust (lacking boobage) and too long, but it fits great in the waist/hips! And I do love the color. Here are two shots... one with straps, one without. I'm going to wait til it is altered and fits before I decide which way I like better, but right now I am leaning towards with straps. It takes some emphasis away from my bony shoulders and long turtle-neck. And by the way - posing is hard! I have a whole new respect for the red carpet now!

The Autumn Film

Hello! I know it has been forever since I have updated. That's partly because I haven't been doing anything terribly exciting, and also because I haven't been taking my camera out much.

What I have been doing:
  • Snowboarding! The last time I went I rocked the trees a bit. It was really fun. Matt is a great person to go with because he is like one-step better than me so it pushes me to try to be as good as him...but then he gets better so I have to keep trying. It's been fun, but I wish I had more people to go up with. I'd like to go more often.
  • Trivia nights. Been rockin these with some work folks about once/week lately. It's great to finally have some real work friends. One girl, V, is awesome. She's frickin hilarious. Actually she might start doing some stand-up comedy soon! Maybe we can be a team. haha. I don't think so. Anyways, who doesn't love trivia nights and winning free beer?
  • Hanging out with the roommates a lot. This probably goes without saying, but when I was dating E, I wasn't home a lot. Now, us three roomies chill at home and watch movies a ton. I've also been cooking more which is good cause I feel healthier and I've been saving money.
  • Planning my next vacation. I want to take a dive trip sometime this year. But I think I also have to go to Germany in October. And I'll be going home sometime this spring and summer for Meg's shower and wedding. But really... I want to go diving again SOON!!
  • Getting back into rock climbing. I can't say I was ever really a climber, but I did dabble and climb a bunch (mostly bouldering) back in 2003. I've always wanted to get back into it, and living in Boulder is the perfect place to do it, so I'm seizing the opportunity. I've already got hooked up with a great group of climbing buddies and my class starts in March. And I'll probably join the local climbing gym, but first I have to see how my finances are.
  • And finally, I've been working. Hard. And it's paying off. I'm getting a raise soon! Maybe even a promotion (which would be more of a job title change since I've already taken on a lot of extra responsibility). I still love my job and everyone I work with, so no complaints there.
OK, and the main reason I wanted to post was because I finally have some pictures! My friend Aubrea's band, The Autumn Film, headlined the Boulder Theater this past Friday, which is a HUGE accomplishment for them. And they ROCKED it. It was so good, and I took a bunch of pictures. They've just embarked on a 45-date tour, so go check out their myspace and go see them if they play near you! Here's the pics:

Flashback to the 90's!

The start of the New Years festivities started Friday. Hit up the Motet show with Bret and his sister Laura. It was a 90's theme night so we did it up in style.

Yes my pants are tight-rolled. hehe.

Saturday night met up with the "crew" in Denver. Great to see everyone, and it was at a super nice bar taboot!

2007 in review

I thought I would fill out the same survey that I did this time last year, so here goes..

Time to reflect!!

1) Drinking Buddy of The Year?
Jamie, Betty, Karen and Ben in Australia. Eric in Boulder.

2) Lifetime service award - Longest friend
George gets the longest friend award; but Bret is not far behind.

3) High Point of the year?
This is a tie - Getting on the plane in Australia, because it meant I was finally totally done with my thesis. And driving to Boulder with Eric because it was fun, exciting, and such a good time. And it also meant a new chapter of my life was beginning, and I love that feeling.

4) Low point of the year?
Crying in the computer lab one day for no reason other than stress. I never want to feel that feeling again.

5) Best holiday?
Vacation holiday = The dive trip on Undersea Explorer. 26 dives in 5 days!
Holiday holiday = While Christmas was awesome, I said that last year, so this year I am going to go with Thanksgiving. Thursday Eric and I made a nice dinner and then went to trivia night at the bar. Friday, I cooked some delicious food, and got to hang out with all of my Boulder friends. It really was a great day.

6) Anthem for 2006?
I'm going to say "The Times they are a Changin"... or anything related to change, cause that definitely was the theme this year.

7) Any Regrets?
I try really hard not to have any regrets, cause what's the point. But there are some things I wish turned out different.

8) Best Night out?
Toga night in February was super fun. Ben's surprise yacht party. Mateo and trivia night with Eric in June. Mini golf, shuffle board, and then to Catacombs for pool, air hockey, and bowling arcade game. That was really fun. I know there are more that I am forgetting! Oh! Without a doubt the best night was the Wild Card Rockies game that lasted 13-something innings... watched it at Conor O'Neil's with everyone and it was CRAZY. Definitely the best sports game I have EVER seen.

9) Worst Night out?
Hmmm, I don't think there were any bad ones really.

10) Who did you spend your valentines with?
Talking to Eric online while writing my thesis at the computer lab. I hope this years is better! I am sick of lame Valentine's.

11) Best relationship?
I'm not really sure what this question is asking, but I only had one real romantic relationship this year, so that would be it by default I guess.

12) Worst relationship?
Same as above.

13) Best concert?
Beastie Boys was pretty awesome.

14) Best New Relationship/Friend?
Hmmm.. I think Mary would fall under this category. Even though I knew her before, we've definitely become friends and become a lot closer since living together which is very cool.

15) Best decision made all year?
Move back to Boulder ... although things haven't been shiny-happy-people lately, I know it will be back to that soon.

16) Best new album that you have gotten this year?
The Once soundtrack

17) Most proud moment?
Handing in my thesis. Probably my most proud moment of my life.

18) Most reliable person?
If you had asked me this a couple of week ago I would have said Eric... now I will say Bret, George, Jamie, Maia, and all of my other amazing friends for being so frickin awesome all of the time.

19) Best job of the year?
"Researcher" on a dive boat. So cool.

20) Best Film?
The Black Notebook was pretty cool. I haven't seen Once yet, but I'm sure I will love it.

21) Biggest BITCH?
Life lately has been a bit of a bitch to be honest, but it happens. I guess job hunting was a big bitch too.

22) Biggest pain in your ass?
Moving across the world.

23) Person you wish you never met?
Noone.

24) Catch phrase of the year?
Only in Boulder...
