Truly, I think this might be my favorite park on the Front Range. Sure, Rocky Mountain National Park is great, but it's just too crowded most of the time. Golden Gate combines lower altitude, diverse forests/environments, backcountry camping, lots of looping options, fewer crowds, and all different levels of difficulty for a hiker's paradise within an hour of Denver/Boulder. Hopefully before the summer is over I'll do a short backpacking trip here. But for now, here are some pictures from our short 3-mile adventure Saturday morning.
