Crater Lakes Hike

Did my first long hike by myself since I don't know when. OK, 5.6 miles isn't "long", but it's different than a jaunt in Chautauqua. I was hoping to get a bit away from the crowds, and maybe walk on a trail for 10 minutes without having to say hi to someone. Mission Accomplished at Crater Lakes Trail near Rollinsville. I still definitely saw people, and even ran into my friend Dave who lives in Denver strangely enough, but there were long stretches where I did not see another human, nor hear any unnatural noises. So awesome. I am seriously considering doing some solo camping and/or backpacking trips sometime in the near future. Maybe in the spring.

Saturday night, went out with George and Vanessa. George got a little crazy with the whipped cream from my Iced Irish Coffee.

Sunday, it was off to yet another Rockies game. I've lost track of how many I've gone to this year, but I'm thinking around 10?? Maybe 15? Totally buying a package deal next year. It was insanely hot in the seats, in the blazing sun. So I bought a Rockies cap. First baseball cap I've owned since I was 10 I think. I dig it. Makes me look all sporty ;-)

Heading to Telluride this weekend for a little camping adventure with George. It just so happens to be International Film Festival weekend, so that should be interesting. I've never really seen a "celebrity" before, so I guess we'll see if I get all star-struck. Scratch that. Now it looks like I'll be hiking and perhaps making a bunch of pesto from all my basil.
