7am! Brekkie and then time to dive! Gotta love it. First dive of the day was at No Name Reef. Super original huh? Saw a couple of Notodorus minor nudibranchs (sea slugs) there. They are super cute. OK, so I like sea slugs... SO??
Pipefish. Like a stretched out seahorse.
Dive number two: Snake Pit. This place was pretty beautiful. Lots of nice coral and also home to some olive sea snakes! These are some of the most poisonous snakes in the world (of course, cause it's Australia). And they are pretty inquisitive, but nonagressive. They just like to swim around your legs and check you out. So actually, they are kind of scarier than the sharks. Nothing like having a super poisonous snake swim around you while you just float there helpless!
After that dive we headed off to Lizard Island, which is in the middle of the reef. Not much here except a research station and a super pricey exclusive resort. We went there so some clam researchers on board could check out some clams in the bay. On the way there we saw some dolphins by the boat!
So we went to shore and basically just hung out on the beach til sunset and had a couple beers. Some of us climbed the hill a bit, but we couldn't go very high because of the diving.
